This wooden handle for 6" files is made from natural white birch with a heavy steel gauge ferrule. The file screws into a hardened steel insert inside the handle. The insert cuts a thread on the file tang. 

File stays firmly in place because it screws on. No strain on the wooden handle, so it will not break.  

Measures 4"L x 1-1/8" diameter.
