The Busch® Fig 413 stone setting burs differ slightly from hart burs because they have a straight side. They are excellent for setting round, symmetrical diamonds. They are used to cut seats into prong, bezel and tube settings. Because they have an ideal angle for round stones, they are often used to rough out a seat for a round stone that may later be refined with a hart bur. The stone setting bur size chosen must match the stone size exactly. If the stone is asymmetrical or the size doesn't match, stone setting bur use may be somewhat restricted. Made of tungsten vanadium steel for strength and durability. Use with a lubricant such as Gesswein Lube-Stik to facilitate cutting and prolong tool life.
The 3/32" shanks measure approximately 1.75" long. Maximum operating speed varies with bur size. Please consult with ANSI (American National Standards Institute) for speed recommendations.
See the list below to see the two sets and which burs are available in each set.
